Portrait of Beowoof the Great

Errrr, better make that Beowoof the Goofy. While a painting is never truly finished, I can safely say I will no longer work on this one! Yay!

Blahg, Blahg, Blahg

I'm so not chatty, it's hard for me to blog frequently; therefore, I will strive to blog weekly. That will be huge for me!

My latest endeavors include a charcoal portrait of a coworker's grandchild and an update on the nearly finished portrait of Beowoof:

Beowoof's nemesis?

So, I am posting two pictures here. One is of my accomplishment today, since it is, afterall, Sketchy Thursday. The other is of my crazy dog, freaking out when he saw the portrait. He has been barking at it for 30 minutes. I guess he's either giving me a harsh critique, or he really thinks it's another dog!

This dog belongs to a friend of mine, but she doesn't know I did it. Let's see if she can recognize her pup:

Back in the saddle (again)

Ummmm, yeah, I took another break. I was painting, but forgot about this blog thing. Sorry, Kellie! Did a little travel, and then the holiday put a crimp in my plans as well. I lost both of my painting days last week, since the doggie day-care was closed. Yes, my dog goes to daycare. He is a very hyper-active little thing, and when he's in my studio, bad things happen.

I'm posting some pics of my paintings currently "on the easel," meaning, they are not nearly finished, but some people have shown an interest in seeing paintings in stages, so here goes....

This one is nearly halfway finished, and is a portrait of my baby on the first day I brought him home, when he was only 8 weeks old:



The following two are of the same dog, who belongs to the owner of Beowoof's doggy daycare. Both are in the beginning stages.

Sketchy work

Day two of my blog experience, so let's see if I can babble enough to fill this box.

I've been in an artistic hiatus for.......errr........well, let's say months. I'm not sure if I'm having a block, or cold feet, but it's hard getting back in the groove. I'm off work Thursdays and Fridays, so I've designated every Thursday as laundry-sunbathe-dust-sketch-blog-advertise-day, and Friday as paint-in-my-new-studio-only-emerging-for-lunch-day. Think it will work?

So, this afternnon I've been working on a sketch for a friend, but since I haven't sketched or worked on any drawings in years, my fingers cramp every 30 minutes. Really? Fingers get out of shape? Geeez. I shouldn't be surprised--my entire body is out of shape. lmao

ummmm what now?

My friend Kellie encouraged me to start a blog last year. LAST YEAR. It took a year for me to get the nerve to do so. I really, really don't think I have enough to say for a blog, but at least having an account will make it easier for me to comment on hers!
